Angela Thiele is a partner with Lindsay Kenney LLP in our Vancouver office. Angela is a general litigator and her practice is very varied, including employment work, both acting for employers and employees and for unions, estate and matrimonial litigation, shareholders' remedies, professional negligence matters and real estate litigation. She has also acted for the insured in coverage disputes and in disability and life insurance claims.
Ms. Thiele appears at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals, including Workers' Compensation Board, Unemployment Insurance Tribunals, and both the British Columbia and Canada Labour Relations Board.
Ms. Thiele was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1980, and a Bachelor of Laws in 1983, both from the University of British Columbia. She was awarded several scholarships including the Law Society Gold Medal, which is given to the student who attains the highest standing in the class over the three-year degree program.
Ms. Thiele is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Vancouver Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. She has been a guest lecturer on family, estate, and employment law at the People's Law School, Terminal City Club, Murray Axsmith, South Vancouver Family Place, and Stenberg & Associates and Continuing Legal Education. She has assisted the Law Society in professional discipline matters by participating in conduct reviews of other lawyers' practices and by making herself available to advise lawyers how to respond to Law Society complaints. Ms. Thiele is active in her community currently as a Parks Board Commissioner, Library Board Member, and as a charity fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Canada, for whom she spearheads an annual event known as Laughter through the Tears.
