What you can expect:

We currently have an opening in our Langley office for an Intermediate LAA supporting in our busy personal injury department. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:

  • Performing various administrative duties such as answering phones, redirecting cold calls, no-fault phone calls
  • Drafting and preparing correspondence
  • Drafting and preparing pleadings
  • Online court filings
  • Basic accounting (paying disbursements and invoicing)
  • Scheduling and maintaining calendars, discoveries, mediations and trial dates
  • Creating List of Documents and serving appropriate parties
  • Reviewing document requests from defence counsel
  • Providing general assistance to the lawyers in all matters
  • Delegating to Jr. Legal Assistant for record requests and follow-ups
  • Other administrative tasks as required

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an LAA in a busy plaintiff personal injury practice
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in independently and in a team environment
