Legal Practice Areas:
Perminder S. Tung is a Partner at Lindsay Kenney LLP. He practices exclusively as an ICBC Injury Claims Lawyer and is passionate about serving injured parties and helping them on their path to recovery and settlement. He has extensive court experience and a strong background in negotiation and dispute resolution. In his early days as a lawyer, he represented ICBC as a defence attorney and later switched sides to assist the victims of motor vehicle accidents. He enjoys using his time and skill to advance his client’s interests against large insurance companies.
In an effort to serve the community and provide people with in-depth information on ICBC injury claims, Perminder maintains a personal injury blog where he writes an ICBC Tip-of-the-Month and summarizes emerging legal trends as well as recent personal injury case summaries and decisions. He feels that the public should be better informed about their rights.
Perminder was born and raised in the Fraser Valley region and is passionate about his roots in Surrey, BC. He completed his undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University in 2004. He moved away and obtained his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Windsor (2008) and Juris Doctor, cum laude from the University of Detroit (2008). British Columbia weather and family brought him back to the West Coast in 2008.
Ever an active member of the community, Perminder cares deeply about helping at-risk youth and accelerating opportunities for gifted, but sometimes disadvantaged youth. He can often be found speaking at community events and high schools to encourage young people to reach for the stars. His passion project is to create a community foundation, supported by local professionals, which will serve the youth of the Fraser Valley and beyond. Professionally, he is also active in the legal community. Perminder was appointed by the Minister of Health to serve on the Board of Governors of the College of Massage Therapists of BC. He served in that capacity from 2012 to 2018 and was a judicial member of the Discipline Sub-Committee. He also served on Provincial Council for Westminster County with the Canadian Bar Association from 2011 to 2015. He served on the Board of Directors for South Asian Bar Association from 2008 to 2018 and as President from 2016 to 2018. His most recent commitment is his service on the Board of Governors of a growing independent school in the Fraser Valley. The mission and vision for the not-for-profit school is to offer a leading, but affordable, educational alternative with International Baccalaureate (IB) certification.
Recreationally, he can be found playing basketball and ball-hockey. He participates in the Hooplaw Tournament, which raises funds for disadvantaged children, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Ball Hockey Tournament in Langley, BC. He of course enjoys travelling and relaxing with his wife and two children. He will often say there is no “spare time” to enjoy time to himself, as that time should be filled with others.
