What you can expect:

We currently have an opening in our Vancouver office for a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:

  • Organizing the calendar of the assigned lawyer(s), booking appointments, trials and discoveries
  • Monthly billing and reporting to clients
  • Opening and closing files
  • Drafting correspondence 
  • Preparing List of Documents and other pleadings
  • Maintaining a bring forward system
  • Electronic filing of documents
  • Basic accounting (paying disbursements and invoicing)
  • Organizing files, binders, client documents and other file related materials
  • Managing time entries and expense reports
  • Other administrative tasks as required

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience as an LAA in a busy general litigation practice
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Familiarity with foreclosure and insolvency work would be an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills/knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
