Sanjeev has spent decades applying his natural talents in presenting arguments for his clients before the Court.
Before pursuing his law degree, Sanjeev studied cell biology and genetics at the University of British Columbia. The move from Ottawa to B.C. for university gave Sanjeev the chance to pursue his passion for skiing, golf, soccer and explore the mountains and beaches that are so easily accessible in the Lower Mainland. He has travelled to Mexico and Uganda to serve as a volunteer and on the board of a non-profit established to support orphans in the state of Orissa, India.
After graduating from UBC in 1998 with a B.Sc., Sanjeev recognized that studying law presented a way to combine his innate inclination to argue, debate and advocate for interesting ideas with a career as a lawyer. He enrolled in the Faculty of Law at UBC in 1998 and graduated with an LL.B. in 2002. During those years, he worked as a research assistant to a professor of constitutional law, was a member of the Wilson moot team and participated in an exchange at the University of Copenhagen which allowed him to travel extensively throughout Europe.
Sanjeev had the privilege of clerking at the British Columbia Court of Appeal from September 2001 to June 2002. As a clerk, he worked for three justices of appeal and the opportunity to experience the appeal process from an uncommon perspective.
Following his time as a clerk, Sanjeev articled at one of Vancouver’s oldest and largest law firms – which has since merged with a multinational firm. In the years since, he has developed a practice that focuses on a wide array of commercial and civil disputes. Sanjeev defends and acts for companies and individuals in contract and property disputes, shareholders and company disputes (including oppression and related claims), defamation claims, wrongful dismissal, human rights complaints and matters involving estate and wills (including validity and variation claims). He has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, in mediations and arbitrations and the BC Human Rights Tribunal.
